Branch Banking & Trust (BB&T) is one of the nation’s largest bank holding companies. It has assets of more than $189 billion and a market cap of $28 billion-plus. It serves consumers and both large and small businesses across 12 states and the District of Columbia.

There are six types of accounts for small businesses

  1. Business Value 200
  2. Business Value 500
  3. Business Analyzed Checking
  4. Business Interest Checking
  5. Commercial Interest Checking
  6. Community Checking
  7. There are four more intended to be used by public entities, non-profits and, in one instance, large businesses. Those accounts are called Public Fund Analyzed Checking, Public Fund Interest Checking, Earning2 Checking, and Basic Public Fund Checking.

The minimum opening deposit (in North Carolina) is $100 for each account type of small business-oriented account. Monthly maintenance fees vary from $12 per month through $20 to $25 per month. Some fees are slightly different for public entity-oriented accounts.

A mobile banking app provides access to account balances and transactions, enables check deposits, bill-paying and money transfers.

Up to 24 months of states are available online.

Small businesses can, through Small Business Online, set up international wire transfers of cash, manage their BB&T small business credit card, process payments from customers, and more.

Small business debit and credit card accounts can be set up online.
